What this fund is

UBS MSCI Swiss Dividend ETF CHF dis is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from UBS, traded under the ticker CHDIV (ISIN CH1244681594). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, focused on the European market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the MSCI Swiss index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include NOVARTIS AG-REG, ZURICH INSURANCE GROUP AG and NESTLE SA-REG. Its biggest country exposures are ~95.7% Switzerland.

By industry it concentrates most in ~39.1% Financials and ~29.7% Health Care. It is commonly used to tilt a portfolio towards one market, usually alongside broader, more global funds rather than on its own. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.12% a year — about €12 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is paid out to you as cash (a distributing share class), and over the last year it paid out roughly 2.96% (its trailing yield). It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Switzerland and trades in CHF.

Its price has swung about 13.4% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2023. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from UBS.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
