What this fund is

iShares € Corp Bond ex-Financials UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker IEXA (ISIN IE0000BH4WF5). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about lending to governments and companies in return for regular interest, which tends to be steadier than shares but grows more slowly, spread across its target market. Its largest holdings include BLK LEAF FUND AGENCY ACC T0 EUR, ANHEUSER-BUSCH INBEV NV MTN RegS and AMAZON.COM INC. With about 2510 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 1.5%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names.

By geography it is weighted towards ~26.2% United States, ~16.4% Germany and ~16.3% France. Its heaviest sectors are ~23.6% Consumer Staples and ~17% Consumer Discretionary. Funds like this are often used as the steadier, lower-swing part of a portfolio — the ballast that cushions the ups and downs of shares. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.2% a year — about €20 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything.

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR. Its price has swung about 3% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2022. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
