What this fund is

Invesco Global High Yield Corporate Bond ESG Climate Transition UCITS ETF GBP PfHdg Dist is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Invesco, traded under the ticker GBHG (ISIN IE00020C1NS6). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. In plain terms it is about lending to governments and companies in return for regular interest, which tends to be steadier than shares but grows more slowly, spread broadly across markets worldwide. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the Bloomberg MSCI Global High Yield Liquid Corporate Climate Transition ESG Bond Index (CTB) index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include Cash and/or Derivatives, Windstream Services LLC / Windstre 8.25% 01/10/31 and Michaels Cos Inc/The 8.5% 15/03/33. With about 1187 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 4.4%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names.

By geography it is weighted towards ~73.4% United States, ~2.1% France and ~0.6% Belgium. By industry it concentrates most in ~19.7% Consumer Discretionary and ~15% Communication Services. Funds like this are often used as the steadier, lower-swing part of a portfolio — the ballast that cushions the ups and downs of shares. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.3% a year — about €30 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund; counting the trading costs inside the fund, the all-in figure is around 0.55%. Income such as dividends is paid out to you as cash (a distributing share class), and over the last year it paid out roughly 6.49% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors, trades in GBP and is currency-hedged against exchange-rate swings. On the standard KID risk scale it is rated 2 out of 7 and its price has swung about 4.1% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2023, and its KID suggests a holding period of 7 years. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
