What this fund is

UBS EUR Overnight Rate SF UCITS ETF EUR acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from UBS, traded under the ticker EUROON (ISIN IE0006BDZN36). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. In plain terms it is about very short-term, cash-like instruments, aimed at protecting your money and earning a little interest rather than growing it, spread across its target market. It follows the EUR Overnight Rate index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down.

Funds like this are often used as the steadier, lower-swing part of a portfolio — the ballast that cushions the ups and downs of shares. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.05% a year — about €5 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything. It tracks its index through a swap agreement rather than owning every holding (synthetic replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR.

Its price has swung about 0.4% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2025. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from UBS.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
