What this fund is

Invesco S&P World Energy Targeted & Screened UCITS ETF Acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Invesco, traded under the ticker WDEE (ISIN IE000AIFGRB9). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the energy part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the S&P World Energy Targeted & Screened Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include ENBRIDGE INC NPV, CONOCOPHILLIPS USD0.01 and WILLIAMS COS INC USD1.

Spread across roughly 31 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 70.5%), no one position makes or breaks the fund. Its biggest country exposures are ~51% United States, ~18.1% Canada and ~13.1% United Kingdom. By industry it concentrates most in ~100% Energy. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.18% a year — about €18 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund.

It is an accumulating share class: dividends are rolled straight back in, compounding your returns rather than landing in your account as cash. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 28.6% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2023. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from Invesco.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
