What this fund is

iShares Nuclear Energy and Uranium Mining UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker NUUR (ISIN IE000BMZP0I6). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the utilities part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. Its largest holdings include DOMINION ENERGY INC, DUKE ENERGY CORP and CAMECO CORP.

It holds around 54 positions (the ten largest ≈ 57.5%), spreading risk so no single holding decides your outcome. Geographically it leans ~41.2% United States, ~23% Japan and ~14.1% Canada. Its heaviest sectors are ~48% Utilities and ~36.6% Industrials. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.5% a year — about €50 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund.

Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 31.1% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2025. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
