What this fund is

UBS Core MSCI World UCITS ETF hEUR acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from UBS, traded under the ticker WRDE (ISIN IE000TB15RC6). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread broadly across markets worldwide. It follows the MSCI World index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include APPLE INC, NVIDIA CORP and MICROSOFT CORP. Its biggest country exposures are ~26% United States.

By industry it concentrates most in ~16.4% Technology and ~5.7% Communication Services. Investors often use a broad fund like this as a long-term 'core' holding — a single building block that covers much of a global portfolio in one trade. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.09% a year — about €9 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR.

Its price has swung about 11.6% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2024. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from UBS.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
