What this fund is

iShares China Large Cap UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker FXC (ISIN IE00B02KXK85). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. Its largest holdings include TENCENT HOLDINGS LTD, CHINA CONSTRUCTION BANK CORP H and ALIBABA GROUP HOLDING LTD. Spread across roughly 58 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 56.2%), no one position makes or breaks the fund.

Its biggest country exposures are ~98.7% China and ~3.4% Hong Kong. Its heaviest sectors are ~34% Financials and ~24.9% Consumer Discretionary. It is commonly used to tilt a portfolio towards one market, usually alongside broader, more global funds rather than on its own. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.74% a year — about €74 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 1.01% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 35.3% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2004. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
