What this fund is

iShares MSCI AC Far East ex-Japan UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker IDFF (ISIN IE00B0M63730). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the technology part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. It follows the MSCI Ac Far East Ex-japan index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS LTD and SK HYNIX INC.

With about 440 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 53.8%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names. By geography it is weighted towards ~35.1% Taiwan, ~28.9% Korea (South) and ~19.8% China. Its heaviest sectors are ~53.4% Technology and ~18.1% Financials. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.74% a year — about €74 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund.

Income such as dividends is paid out to you as cash (a distributing share class), and over the last year it paid out roughly 1.32% (its trailing yield). It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 104.6% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2005. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
