What this fund is

iShares Global Clean Energy Transition UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker INRG (ISIN IE00B1XNHC34). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread broadly across markets worldwide. Its largest holdings include BLOOM ENERGY CLASS A CORP, FIRST SOLAR INC and NEXTPOWER INC CLASS A. With about 133 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 53.4%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names.

By geography it is weighted towards ~45.2% United States, ~19.3% China and ~5.8% Brazil. Its heaviest sectors are ~38.5% Industrials and ~35.2% Utilities. Funds like this are commonly chosen by investors who want a regular cash income stream rather than reinvesting everything for growth. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.65% a year — about €65 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is paid out to you as cash (a distributing share class), and over the last year it paid out roughly 0.97% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 30% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2007. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
