What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® Bloomberg Euro Corporate Bond UCITS ETF (Dist) is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker EUCO (ISIN IE00B3T9LM79). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. In plain terms it is about lending to governments and companies in return for regular interest, which tends to be steadier than shares but grows more slowly, focused on the European market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the Bloomberg Euro Corporate Bond Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include Cash_EUR, JPMORGAN CHASE & CO 3.761 03/21/2034 and AMAZON.COM INC 3.1 03/16/2030. Spread across roughly 3148 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 1.1%), no one position makes or breaks the fund.

By industry it concentrates most in ~43.6% Financials and ~9.8% Consumer Discretionary. Funds like this are often used as the steadier, lower-swing part of a portfolio — the ballast that cushions the ups and downs of shares. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.12% a year — about €12 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 4.88% (its trailing yield). It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 3.3% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2011. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
