What this fund is

Invesco Technology S&P US Select Sector UCITS ETF Acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Invesco, traded under the ticker XLKS (ISIN IE00B3VSSL01). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the S&P® Select Sector Capped 20% Technology Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include NEXTERA ENERGY INC, GE VERNOVA INC and ALTRIA GROUP INC. With about 162 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 42.5%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names.

By geography it is weighted towards ~86.5% United States, ~4.1% Switzerland and ~2.5% United Kingdom. By industry it concentrates most in ~29.6% Technology and ~15.3% Financials. It is commonly used to tilt a portfolio towards one market, usually alongside broader, more global funds rather than on its own. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.14% a year — about €14 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything.

It tracks its index through a swap agreement rather than owning every holding (synthetic replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 51.6% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2009. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from Invesco.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
