What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® Bloomberg 0-3 Year Euro Corporate Bond UCITS ETF (Dist) is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker SEUC (ISIN IE00BC7GZW19). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about lending to governments and companies in return for regular interest, which tends to be steadier than shares but grows more slowly, focused on the European market. It follows the Bloomberg Euro 0-3 Year Corporate Bond Index index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include Cash_EUR, ANHEUSER-BUSCH INBEV SA/ 2 03/17/2028 and JPMORGAN CHASE & CO 1.5 10/29/2026. It holds around 1690 positions (the ten largest ≈ 1.8%), spreading risk so no single holding decides your outcome.

Its heaviest sectors are ~48.3% Financials and ~9.8% Consumer Discretionary. Funds like this are often used as the steadier, lower-swing part of a portfolio — the ballast that cushions the ups and downs of shares. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.2% a year — about €20 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 4.5% (its trailing yield). It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 2.2% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2013. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
