What this fund is

UBS Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF USD acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from UBS, traded under the ticker S5UA (ISIN IE00BD4TXW66). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. It follows the S&P 500 index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include NVIDIA CORP, APPLE INC and MICROSOFT CORP. Geographically it leans ~36.6% United States.

Its heaviest sectors are ~23.3% Technology and ~7.9% Communication Services. It is commonly used to tilt a portfolio towards one market, usually alongside broader, more global funds rather than on its own. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.03% a year — about €3 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 29.7% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2025. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from UBS.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
