What this fund is

iShares Edge MSCI Europe Value Factor UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker IEDL (ISIN IE00BG13YH41). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, focused on the European market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the MSCI Europe index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include SIEMENS N AG, SANOFI SA and BAYER AG. With about 162 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 31%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names.

Geographically it leans ~24.7% Germany, ~23.4% France and ~23.1% United Kingdom. By industry it concentrates most in ~25.9% Financials and ~19.5% Industrials. Funds like this are commonly chosen by investors who want a regular cash income stream rather than reinvesting everything for growth. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.25% a year — about €25 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 2.890749% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR. Its price has swung about 13.9% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2018. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
