What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® Morningstar Multi-Asset Global Infrastructure UCITS ETF (Dist) is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker MAGI (ISIN IE00BQWJFQ70). It lets you buy a basket of holdings in a single trade, spreading your money across them rather than one company. In plain terms it is about a ready-made mix of shares, bonds and sometimes other assets in a single fund, so the balance is managed for you, spread broadly across markets worldwide. It follows the Morningstar Global Multi-Asset Infrastructure Index index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include NEXTERA ENERGY INC COMMON STOCK USD.01, UNION PACIFIC CORP COMMON STOCK USD2.5 and IBERDROLA SA COMMON STOCK EUR.75. It holds around 2182 positions (the ten largest ≈ 11.2%), spreading risk so no single holding decides your outcome.

By geography it is weighted towards ~54.8% United States, ~6.4% Canada and ~4.9% France. By industry it concentrates most in ~35.6% Utilities and ~29% Industrials. Investors often use a broad fund like this as a long-term 'core' holding — a single building block that covers much of a global portfolio in one trade. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.4% a year — about €40 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund; counting the trading costs inside the fund, the all-in figure is around 0.41%. Income such as dividends is paid out to you as cash (a distributing share class), and over the last year it paid out roughly 1.3% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. On the standard KID risk scale it is rated 3 out of 7 and its price has swung about 7.1% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2015, and its KID suggests a holding period of 5 years. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
