What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® MSCI USA Small Cap Value Weighted UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker USSC (ISIN IE00BSPLC413). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the MSCI USA Small Cap Value Weighted Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include Performance Food Group Co, TD SYNNEX Corporation and RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.. It holds around 1660 positions (the ten largest ≈ 5.1%), spreading risk so no single holding decides your outcome.

By geography it is weighted towards ~94.8% United States, ~2.5% Bermuda and ~0.8% Ireland. By industry it concentrates most in ~23.8% Financials and ~15.7% Industrials. It is commonly used to tilt a portfolio towards one market, usually alongside broader, more global funds rather than on its own. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.3% a year — about €30 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything.

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 14.6% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2015. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
