What this fund is

iShares MSCI World Quality Dividend Advanced UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from iShares, traded under the ticker WQDV (ISIN IE00BYYHSQ67). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread broadly across markets worldwide. It passively tracks the MSCI World Quality index — mirroring that market instead of paying a manager to pick winners, which keeps costs low, and its largest holdings include APPLIED MATERIAL INC, NVIDIA CORP and APPLE INC. Spread across roughly 214 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 26.2%), no one position makes or breaks the fund.

By geography it is weighted towards ~52.3% United States, ~8.9% Japan and ~6.7% Switzerland. Its heaviest sectors are ~34.2% Technology and ~17% Financials. Funds like this are commonly chosen by investors who want a regular cash income stream rather than reinvesting everything for growth. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.38% a year — about €38 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 2.82% (its trailing yield).

It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 23.1% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2017. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from iShares.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
