What this fund is

UBS MSCI EMU Value UCITS ETF EUR acc is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from UBS, traded under the ticker EMUV (ISIN LU0950669845). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. It follows the MSCI EMU Value index (passive investing): it tracks the market rather than relying on a manager, keeping running costs down, and its largest holdings include ALLIANZ SE-REG, SIEMENS AG-REG and TOTALENERGIES SE. By geography it is weighted towards ~10.8% Spain, ~8.5% Germany and ~6.8% France.

Its heaviest sectors are ~22.7% Financials and ~3.9% Industrials. Investors often use a broad fund like this as a long-term 'core' holding — a single building block that covers much of a global portfolio in one trade. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.25% a year — about €25 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It is an accumulating share class: dividends are rolled straight back in, compounding your returns rather than landing in your account as cash. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Luxembourg and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR.

Its price has swung about 13.1% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2022. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from UBS.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
