What this fund is

Amundi MSCI EM Latin America UCITS ETF - EUR (C) is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Amundi, traded under the ticker ALAT (ISIN LU1681045024). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. In plain terms it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't, spread across its target market. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the MSCI Daily TR Net Emerging Markets Latin America USD index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include VALE SA, NU HOLDINGS LTD/CAYMAN ISL-A and ITAU UNIBANCO HOLDING -PFD. By geography it is weighted towards ~59% Brazil, ~25.9% Mexico and ~6.9% Chile.

By industry it concentrates most in ~35% Financials and ~20.1% Materials. Investors often use a broad fund like this as a long-term 'core' holding — a single building block that covers much of a global portfolio in one trade. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.2% a year — about €20 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. Income such as dividends is automatically reinvested inside the fund (an accumulating share class), so returns compound without you doing anything. It tracks its index through a swap agreement rather than owning every holding (synthetic replication); it is domiciled in Luxembourg and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR.

Its price has swung about 18.8% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2018. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from Amundi.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
