What this fund is

Amundi STOXX Europe 600 Energy Screened UCITS ETF Dist is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Amundi, traded under the ticker OIGS (ISIN LU2082998167). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the energy part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the STOXX Europe 600 Energy Screened+ Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include SHELL PLC EUR, SIEMENS ENERGY AG and ENI SPA MILAN.

Spread across roughly 21 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 86.9%), no one position makes or breaks the fund. By geography it is weighted towards ~28.1% United Kingdom, ~19.4% Germany and ~17.9% Italy. Its heaviest sectors are ~67.9% Energy and ~27% Industrials. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.3% a year — about €30 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund.

It is a distributing share class — dividends are paid to you as cash rather than reinvested, and over the last year it paid out roughly 1.52% (its trailing yield). It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in Luxembourg and UCITS-regulated, a European standard built to protect everyday investors and trades in EUR. Its price has swung about 18.2% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2024. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from Amundi.)

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
