What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® Dow Jones® International Real Estate ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker RWX (ISIN US78463X8636). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. In plain terms it is about owning listed property companies (REITs), which earn rent from buildings and usually pass much of it on to investors, spread broadly across markets worldwide. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the Dow Jones Global ex-U.S. Select Real Estate Securities Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include MITSUI FUDOSAN CO LTD, SEGRO PLC and UNIBAIL RODAMCO WESTFIELD.

It holds around 146 positions (the ten largest ≈ 28.6%), spreading risk so no single holding decides your outcome. By industry it concentrates most in ~78.7% Real Estate. It is typically held as a diversifier — a slice that behaves differently from mainstream shares — rather than as a portfolio's main engine. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.59% a year — about €59 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in the United States and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 13.8% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2006. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

Using State Street® SPDR® Dow Jones® International Real Estate ETF’s fee. The “assumed yearly return” is just an assumption you can change — not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
