What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® NYSE Technology ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker XNTK (ISIN US78464A1025). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the technology part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. It passively tracks the NYSE Technology Index index — mirroring that market instead of paying a manager to pick winners, which keeps costs low, and its largest holdings include MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC, INTEL CORP and MARVELL TECHNOLOGY INC.

Spread across roughly 36 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 51.1%), no one position makes or breaks the fund. Its heaviest sectors are ~69.5% Technology and ~6.3% Communication Services. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.35% a year — about €35 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in the United States and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 27.6% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. It launched in 2000. Like any investment, it can lose value as well as gain, and what it did before does not predict what it will do next. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
