What this fund is

State Street® SPDR® FactSet Innovative Technology ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from SPDR, traded under the ticker XITK (ISIN US78464A1108). In a single purchase you get a diversified basket of holdings rather than a stake in just one business. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the technology part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the FactSet Innovative Technology Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include AXT INC, APPLIED OPTOELECTRONICS INC and SILICON MOTION TECHNOL ADR.

With about 99 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 26.5%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names. By industry it concentrates most in ~70.2% Technology and ~8.3% Communication Services. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding. Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.45% a year — about €45 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in the United States and trades in USD.

Its price has swung about 28.5% over the past year — a gauge of how much the value moves, not a judgement of quality. It launched in 2016. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from SPDR.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
