What this fund is

Vanguard Financials ETF is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) from Vanguard, traded under the ticker VFH (ISIN US92204A4058). One trade buys a whole basket of holdings, so your money is spread out instead of riding on a single company. At its core it is a focused, thematic fund: it concentrates on the financials part of the market, so it lives or dies by that one area rather than the economy as a whole. Underneath, it is about owning small slices of companies, so you share in their growth when they do well — and their falls when they don't. Rather than a manager picking stocks, it simply replicates the Spliced U.S. Investable Market Financials 25/50 Index index — the passive, low-cost approach, and its largest holdings include JPMorgan Chase & Co., Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Class B and Mastercard Inc. Class A. With about 429 holdings (the ten largest ≈ 44.6%), your money is diversified rather than concentrated in a handful of names. Its biggest country exposures are ~92.5% United States, ~1.3% Switzerland and ~1.1% Bermuda. By industry it concentrates most in ~96% Financials. A focused fund like this is typically held as a smaller 'satellite' position around a broader core — a way to lean into one theme, not usually a portfolio's only holding.

Its ongoing charge (TER) is 0.09% a year — about €9 a year on a €10,000 holding, taken automatically from the fund. It holds the underlying investments directly (physical replication); it is domiciled in the United States and trades in USD. Its price has swung about 14.9% over the past year, which describes how much its price tends to move rather than whether it is good. As with any investment, its value can go down as well as up, and past performance is not a guide to future results. (Fund data sourced from Vanguard.)

What your money could grow into

Pick a monthly amount and a number of years to see how regular investing can add up over time. These are your own assumptions — an illustration, not a prediction.

Using Vanguard Financials ETF’s fee. The “assumed yearly return” is just an assumption you can change — not a prediction.

Try:Rough historical ranges — your assumption, not a prediction or advice.

How this works: an educational scenario, not a forecast. We compound monthly and add your monthly amount each month. “Expected annual return” is your own assumption — pick a cautious one; real markets are bumpy and can fall. “Adjust for inflation” simply restates the result in today’s spending power. The fee figure includes the yearly fund fee (TER) and the growth those fees would otherwise have earned. The fund comparison repeats each fund’s last-12-months return every year — a rough illustration only, which real funds never do. Not advice.
